Open Until FilledJOB DUTIESESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator and Adult Programs Manager.
Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
Operates 12 passenger van or mini-van to transport senior citizens to and from the Senior Citizens Center, for activities organized by the Center and to various appointments and/or errands including doctor's visits, hair appointments, banks, and shopping.
Responsible for taking directions from Transportation Coordinator regarding daily transportation routes, vehicles used and completion of daily documentation.
Assists with delivery of noon meals to homebound seniors.
Responsible for assisting senior patrons who are transported by escorting/assisting them to and from the vans.
Assists Transportation coordinator in maintaining upkeep and fueling of City vehicles.
Assists in cleaning facilities when needed.
Assists in serving and clean-up of daily meals.
Ability to work some weekends or evenings to assist in day trips or special events.
Works other related senior activities within the Senior Center campus or outside, as needed.
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Answers incoming telephone calls and takes messages as needed.
Answers questions regarding programs or schedules coordinated through the Senior Center, routes callers to appropriate person within the Center, and refers callers to an appropriate agency for assistance if needed.
Assists with decorating Senior Center for special events and working with other programs in the Senior Center.

QUALIFICATIONSThis position is subject to the City of Farmington's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy which includes:
pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing.
Extensive background checks required.
Valid New Mexico driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years or state of current residency.
Experience driving 15 passenger van or mini-van preferred.
Must have a friendly disposition and caring - patient attitude toward senior citizens.
Comprehensive knowledge of Farmington streets.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance preferred, but not required.

Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel and the public.
This position has the responsibility to participate in and comply with the City's Environmental, Health, and Safety program.
Ability to operate tools and equipment listed.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
12 passenger van and mini-van, telephone, mobile radio, janitorial equipment and cleaning supplies including broom, mop and vacuum.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
