ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works under the supervision of the Recreation Manager and Recreation Supervisors.
Some supervision of volunteers is exercised in this position.
Performs a variety of receptionist and customer service duties for Sycamore Park Community Center.
Performs general clerical duties such as computer typing, filing, data entry, creating of rental contracts.
Answers and screens incoming calls and takes messages for Sycamore Park Community Center staff.
Receives fees for various recreational activities and daily usage fees.
Using excellent customer service skills establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
Supervises the facility and the safety of the participants using the facility.
Gives information to the public regarding all adult and youth recreation programs and special events.
Assists patrons using our public access computer ensuring compliance of policies.
Responsible for opening and preparing facility for daily operations.
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program.
This includes pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.
Extensive background checks required.
Valid New Mexico driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
Clerical experience is preferred.
Must have knowledge of general clerical duties.
Experience working with the public in person and over the telephone.
First aid, AED, and CPR certification, or ability to obtain such within six months of hiring.
ANSI certified Food Handler preferred, or must be obtained through City classes within 60 days after entry into employment.
Ability to count change and use a cash register.
Knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office products and other computer related functions.
Ability to work varied hours, primarily weekdays and early morning.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel, and the public.
Ability to operate tools and equipment listed.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Personal computer, including Microsoft software; cash register; calculator; copy and fax machine; phone; mobile or portable radio; various sports equipment used in recreation programs.
