Until Filled JOB DUTIES ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works under the supervision of the Recreation Program Supervisor and the Recreation Manager.
Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
Assists the Recreation Program Supervisor in developing and implementing recreation activities, programs, services, and special events programming for all ages that fulfills the department master plan and vision for the community.
Assists the Recreation Program Supervisor in planning, organizing, and supervising the youth after school and summer recreation program, spring break life skills week and special events.
Performs duties of the Recreation Program Leader during absences.
Assists with other recreation programs and events facilitated by the Recreation Center or the PRCA Department as a whole.
Performs a variety of receptionist and customer service duties for Sycamore Park Community Center and the Farmington Recreation Center.
Is responsible for operation of cash register and RecTrac program.
Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the Department and the City.
Supervises the facility and the safety of the participants using the facility during public hours and private rentals.
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program.
This includes pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.
Extensive background checks required.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
Background and experience in recreation programming helpful.
Good public relations skills necessary.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, sports officials, other City personnel, and the public.
First Aid, AED, and CPR certification or ability to obtain such within six months of hiring.
ANSI certified Food Handler preferred, or must be obtained through City classes within 60 days after entry into employment.
Ability to work weekends and evenings.
Good telephone skills necessary.
Ability to count change and use a cash register.
Ability to operate tools and equipment listed.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Personal computer, including Microsoft software; calculator; copy and fax machine; phone; mobile or portable radio; automobile; various sports equipment used in recreation programs.
